Job Title: Systems Developer and Implementation Specialist (6 months)
Location: Pretoria

Job Purpose

We are seeking a hands-on Systems Developer & Implementation Specialist to modernise and roll out the company’s internal operational systems.

The role will involve replacing an existing Microsoft Access system, continuing development of our Supabase-based platform, migrating and validating data, testing and deploying solutions, and training users.

Success will be measured by working, adopted systems with reliable data and clear documentation.

Key Responsibilities

Assess and replace the existing Microsoft Access system with a modern SQL/cloud-based solution.
Analyse and improve existing business processes, workflows and data structures.
Design databases, applications, workflows, reports and dashboards.
Clean, migrate and validate historical data.
Continue development of the company’s Supabase/PostgreSQL operational platform.
Develop modules for:
Inventory and warehouse management
Asset management
Technical/job management and field service
Additional operational workflows as required
Implement authentication, role-based permissions, row-level security, backups and audit trails.
Develop/integrate APIs where required and manage code using Git/GitHub.
Use AI-assisted development tools such as Lovable, Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot or ChatGPT effectively and responsibly.
Work with management and operational staff to translate business requirements into practical solutions.
Conduct functional, data, user, mobile and desktop testing and coordinate user acceptance testing.
Manage implementation, deployment, user setup and rollout.
Train employees and provide initial post-implementation support.
Maintain clear technical, user and administrator documentation.
Ensure all systems are properly tested, deployed and adopted before being considered complete.
 
Required Experience & Skills

Strong SQL/PostgreSQL and relational database experience.
Experience with Supabase or similar cloud platforms.
Web application and API development/integration experience.
Experience migrating data from Microsoft Access or legacy systems.
Experience with authentication, permissions, testing, deployment and reporting.
Practical experience with AI-assisted/Vibe Coding tools.
Strong business-process analysis, communication and training skills.
Experience with inventory, warehouse, asset management, field service, job management or ERP systems will be advantageous.
